Here's an overview on TI's OMAP SoC, http://www.omappedia.org/wiki/Ducati_For_Dummies#Ducati_Subs... Though as mentioned there is always the challenge of die space, making an rtl available is a smart step. You coul imagine synthesising th

I think you're splitting hairs in the first point, it's also strange though that CS grads also have the highest unemployment rate: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10477551 . Which seems to contradict your point about developer roles, or speaks t

The boom had an effect, although the number of IT professionals grew (slowly) after the boom (see page 4 of the link), and I'm fairly sure it doesn't solely explain the collapse in Computing degree applicants. Also, when looking at average

The UK has relied for too long on relatively cheap but willing tech. labour. I believe one major factor that enabled this was the boom in home computing in the early 80s. I don't know whether it is fair to call this unique (to the UK), but

It can break down, but it's a damn good place start, especially if you don't have a good philosophy to replace it. Does it need stating how useful and powerful text based output can be?

Regarding point one, I think some people use this excuse too readily. As a single example consider: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_personhood IMO if companies want to assert rights as individuals I think it is permissible to expec

The thing that didn't work iirc is that people other than Nokia tried to write their own Symbian Telephony server (TSY) and failed to get it working. What makes Android successful, was coming late to the party are QCOM & co having easie

I know what you mean, but doesn't there seem to be something vulgar and the amount of money ($6000) to attend? You can read plenty of things in the press about the extremes of celebrity, and no doubt if someone opened a Nightclub which cost

I can grok that, though for me I found myself going back to my MacBook Pro because the iPad needs propping up and is too slow (browsing). Ignoring slowness, admittedly a problem for any tablet in my opinion.

Yes, I've tried a Xoom today, I also have bought an iPad a while back. Have you tried a Xoom yourself? I don't really see the relevance of the number of applications to the the UI experience.

Strange really because I've found the iPad to be a dull clone of an iPhone where the Xoom seems to have a UI which exploits the size of the screen.

"Refactoring breaks a lot of test cases (mostly with renaming variables)." this seems to be the easiest thing a refactoring tool would handle. Why wouldn't you re-factor your tests at the same time as your code?

Ignoring the problems with WP7, if Nokia were to produce phones with other 'external' OSes why would they stick with just one? No one criticizes Samsung and they are pretty much a mobile-OS whore: SHP, Bada, WP7, Symbian (albeit a year or s
