It's also because he creates lots of fake accounts on HN and Reddit and other places to try to get attention. Moderators are unfortunately too nice in this instance and tolerate his baloney.

It's an extremely low quality article with no real content or educational purpose and a clickbait-y title.

Can it really be that simple though? If you are using a newer version of Git on your repo which is committing only with the newer hash and I try to clone your repo with an older version I will be unable to do so. I guess maybe that's a

I assume they are trying to keep the documents in question confidential. Email is not confidential. EDIT: Folks email is not secure. Even if someone doesn't have access to login to your mail account. Emails in transit are insecure. Usi

If you're not upper level management I don't think having Uber on your resume is gonna be a big black mark, unless it fits with an overall picture you give off of being an asshole. If you seem like a nice person otherwise, I think

It's important to keep in mind when analyzing this issue; SV is not "an industry." There are many companies there across a variety of industries, many of which are tech related. But as much as the media would have us believe

> What if spending so much time on quality Your reply includes the very fallacy that I mention in my comment that you're replying to. Namely that better quality code requires more time. Again, I say, that's not really the case.

You're making an implicit assumption in this comment; that Facebook is in an optimal position and every decision they made contributed to that optimal position in a positive way and so any change is for the worse. But what if they aren

This is an absurd leap of logic. There's many quality programmers who have never worked at a large company and many more terrible programmers who have worked at large companies. Anyone can share their opinion and regardless of where th

Not disputing the code quality of either above project, but over valuing brevity / being concise is a common cause of problems. Specifically, people will often sacrifice readability and robustness for brevity. At this point in my caree

Dude come on. Don't quote the guidelines at people unless they're new users who might not actually be aware. I think it's pretty clear from my comment why I'm saying something; it's not just about this one article,

This is clearly just an ad post. Can we stop allowing this stuff on HN? This is like Burger King posting an article "Hunger affecting 100% of living people up to several times a day has only one solution." From my perspective ther

My 15" rMBP was "only" $3k. The Razer is 50% more! It's a 2012 and still doing great. The Razer is closer to desktop performance, but that also means the battery life is abysmal.

Nope. Not remotely worth it. The off center keyboard would be a deal breaker even if it were $1k less.

There's nothing here about "technology" not being ready. There's no EV specific parts involved. This is just bad customer service and parts delivery.

I see no reason to believe YouTube TV is going to be huge. $35/mo isn't a great bargain. Hulu used to offer a lot of the same channels for only $8/mo and while successful it wasn't "huge". Hulu has been dying s

It's extremely hard for the US to regulate those places. It's true we can do things like raise tariffs on goods coming from those areas or something but that's unlikely to have the intended effect. On the other side China and

What makes you say it's not doable on a $300 mobile GPU? There are phones out that cost $300 that have better performance than the Switch. Also it's really down to the software. They could have targeted 1080p resolution with 60fps
