Sky paused adverts recently out of respect to Brenda's passing (though they didn't note that on the static logo). Was that what you saw? I don't watch TV regularly but I've never seen them run out of adverts for slots; w

The abomination that is az-cli is an convincing advert against this approach. It could be done a lot better of course, but it is fast becoming unusable in typical devops scenarios and shows no sign of improvement.

I think the problems are different. Men have a lot of trouble getting matches sure, and they think they have a rough time because of it. Women get matches, but the majority of the interest is low quality / aggressive / inappropria

If your enemy could be grossly incompetent enough to blow up their own base, or just roughly incompetent enough not to protect it well, why not keep both possibilities open? Maybe they did both :D It is interesting that Russia aren't a

Is 1 indicative of current flowing? Or not flowing? Is that consistent with a given chip, let alone an entire system? Is it always DC current, or can it be AC? In fact, is the 1 represented by current, voltage, and/or frequency? There&

The preprocessor needs to run before the compiler, though, and isn't complex enough to understand the context of the code that it's in. That would be a substantially complex thing to implement.

I read it as statement about mobile units being half compared to built units - so a third of the total? But it's incredibly ambiguous what they mean, I agree - number vs total is a weird bit to focus on if the problem is just an apples

There's plenty that do, and in fact UK driving test examiners would frequently slip a car into gear before the candidate makes their first start. If they hop the car, it's an automatic fail, before you even get out on the road.

Each car has a very different setup for each driver, and may well be designed differently for the drivers the teams have - who may have quite different driving styles and preferences. Being able to optimize both together is quite important

The Mickey issue is more about trade marks than copyright per se, and originality is not a defence to trade mark infringement. However, there is certainly a broader spectrum of "copyright infringement" than simply cutting and past

Pulumi can use TF providers but in general has custom providers, as I understand it - generally you would not be using the TF provider for most deployments.

Copyright, still today and across much of the world, is based on the concepts of authorship and publishing. It works in software in practically the same way as literature.

Freehold didn't apply to much of London. Many areas are still technically owned by large landowners, Dukes and so forth. Not a huge amount of London, and not most of greater London, but definitely applicable to the Royal boroughs.

That's incredibly interesting, because I've been using union types a while and didn't know this. I think a lot of people will get introduced to them via function signatures, and var: ICat | IDog not meaning "var could be

Backing up data that is later permenantly deleted is fine. From a regulatory point of view, typically you only need to ensure: * the backups are not "within reach" and that there's no danger of data that has been deleted bein

I think worse than that, lawyers are now involved. Given the cost of retaining counsel, the likelihood of either of them getting $26-30K out of this now seems remote. One or both need to smell the coffee, and realise this is a great path to

Density in this country, even in the SE (where I also live), is not that high. The "near-constant development" is not a picture I recognise - in fact, we build precious few new homes each year, far too few, and the number is going

Maybe it's easier to explain on HN as being about founders. A marriage is a single legal entity, like a startup, where the two founder share equal equity (by default) with no vesting. It doesn't matter that one founder does the sa

I doubt there are many of those named varieties that anyone would truthfully say are low-quality produce by definition, though. There is just a rich, long history of cheesemaking and a wide variety of different cheeses.

UK produces more varieties. Of course it depends what "great cheese" is defined as - naming is a lot looser in the UK - but a cheese DB without UK (and definitely Italy too) is missing a lot.
