I'm glad that workflow works for you. I'm curious though - What about it is better than turning off automatic updates for addons?

I've found that a lot of typical residential traffic (Netflix) is blocked when routing through datacenters. I'd love to hear your experience.

I’m sure every company has done lots of things various people disapprove of. This is an article about cross-play and your comment isn’t related to that, is it?

Absolutely - That's my understanding as well. There are ways to mitigate (snapchat detects screenshots, etc) but no way to fully prevent - Someone could always use an external camera, etc. I was just really hoping that they had come up

As I understand, Keybase chat is open-source? ( https://github.com/keybase/client ) I don't have time to read through the code right now, but I'd love to hear how they implemented exploding messages with untru

Personally, I disable "Hey, Siri" and other watchword interfaces. That said, I think that if someone complains about X, and you reply "But what about Y?!" you're not really addressing their concern.

Good idea. If all they're doing is adding a physical Echo device, I can do that. It's unfortunate that it'll be another thing to remember to take care of, but it sounds mitigate-able.

In their FAQ ( https://www.amctheatres.com/faqs/alist ) it says that only the subscription holder can use the tickets. They check for a photo id on check-in.

Is there any way to opt-out of having these in the room? I'm not comfortable sleeping in a room with one of these devices.

Sadly, both statements are true - Call Centers are not particularly effective. It's also true that there aren't widely available good options. It's a difficult situation, and the tools to address it are inadequate.

I strongly disagree. Without getting too far into anecdotes, I’ve personally seen multiple people reach out to hospitals for help, and all of them were in a worse condition for it - Both by their own account of the events, and from my outsi

I suspect you’ve been hearing it a lot because more and more people are starting code while very young. I’m certainly not the best coder in the world, but I was “coding” in Logo (for example) from a very young age. Lots of kids are intere

Maybe it isn’t in the area you work in, but for many companies I’ve worked with, it’s a critical component. I’d say it would probably be easier to replace git with hg or something than to pull out and redo the k8s infrastructure.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I think that Apple is totally wrong for blocking the app. If they’re blocking because it doesn’t use MFi that’s a blatant cash-grab. I’m not trying to justify it, just trying to understand wtf is going on.

While we don’t have the full story here, I’m betting that Valve isn’t being entirely forthcoming on the reason. One of the features that Valve talked about was using their Steam Controller with the app. Since the Steam Controller is not MFi

Maybe it'll work out well.. Maybe not. But right now, people being called have an expectation of talking to a person, and this shifts that expectation without the business opting-in to the change. That's going to be frustrating to

Great points! One of the nice side effects of using the cloud is production systems don't normally change name anymore. I can name a machine db2, and if I don't need it anymore, it's quick to destroy it, and create a new mach
