I used to live in a small town near Malaga in Spain and it was a very nice and laid back area. This was around 20min from the beach, maybe coastal towns get a bit more tourism and night life which might be a turn-off since they get flooded

I'm not an OSS zealot but when there are many options available all of similar quality, or I don't care about advanced features, I almost always pick the OSS alternative. e.g. music players, pdf readers, note taking software, etc.

Sadly no, they moved all courses to a private platform, but we used a lot of external resources not too much of our own except the exercises. The kernel development one was pretty much what you can find in the Intel Manuals + osdev wiki [1]
