I'm currently using Dropbox and sync all my coding folders (mostly Rails/Node.js/Go/C#). I'd be willing to switch if one of the other providers would have smarter folder exclusion (something like .gitignore or I wo

This is exactly the reason we built this - it's much harder to keep all these various rules in your head while you're making your bracket, but simple to execute in code. Thanks for the awesome example!

Hey - we have Bracket Pools in the nav bar - that should let you invite friends and have them put their brackets against yours.

Hey netcraft - we built this really quickly so the source is a bit messy - we'll work on open-sourcing it sometime in the near future though.

We have the last few years of data but we don't have back-testing yet - great idea though!

We've scraped the data from various sources - when Selection Sunday was announced we basically edited up a big JSON object to get it ready.

Hi debaserab2 - you can Expand Editor under Help right now, but we don't have full-screen editor. Great idea though!

Hey - David from Fullstack Academy. Our students this semester decided to build something awesome around learning to code and March Madness and codersbracket.com is the result. It's March Madness brackets but instead of picking teams,

Having watched the Beeminder team for these 1000 days (and more), I've seen how powerful the commitment contract was to keeping them alive and growing. This reminds me of a motivational quote: "We tend to overestimate what we can

I have three of these monitors and while they're great for coding, don't expect the color to be anything close to Apple displays. No matter the amount of calibration I do, if you sit one of these next to your MBP Retina, it will look drast

As the creator of hnsummaries.com and former founder of a news summaries business, seems like a nice middle-ground would be to give the user an automated summary and then let them edit it if they choose to do so. As we moved towards this m

Prepare to have your mind blown! :) Innovator's Solution is probably the better book (same ideas expressed, but more in-depth thinking on how to fix it inside your company by Christensen). It's a must-read by startups because it puts you in

After reading the Innovator's Dilemma, you start seeing this effect everywhere and it applies equally in people's careers. I think it's probably the same principle as the law of diminishing return - you're getting less and less out of your

You're in the uncanny valley of stress where it's enough to upset you, but not enough to get you to fix it :) Perhaps an increase in stress level is exactly what you need to really get this fixed since you do care about it.

The idea for this was inspired by Getting Things Done (by David Allen). The key idea is that to achieve productivity, you need a clear mind. A clear mind is knowing that everything in your life is either shelved away for Archival purposes

Besides procrastination, is there any reason why having deadlines later would be beneficial for students or the teacher? It seems that you can almost make a universal law that shorter feedback cycles make for better course correction in al
