Disagree, most of the time it's actually the exact same price as any online site. Go comparison shop RAM or harddrives on Amazon and Newegg. Newegg may have a larger selection but all of the major name-brand items are the same price on

I don't see it that way. I'd rather pay $100 a year to avoid going to chains like Best Buy, Target, Bed Bath, Walmart, what have you. Not only are those places inconvenient compared to online shopping but their products are often

I'm not sure this would be helpful, working with any unpredictable system is a nightmare. The compiler emitting warnings of undefined behavior being utilized would be the best solution, though it would not be able to identify all scena

Wait, this is exactly backwards. The Fed explicitly controls interest rates because they control the supply of money. It's that simple. They do this by setting the federal funds rate, open market operations (direct bond purchases), a

Delta encoding is the more general technique you're describing. It's used by most latency-sensitive networked games today, first made popular in Quake 3 I believe. The general idea is to keep resending all changes in state since t

What's the advantage of switching to containers in this example setup? If you're only using ~3 machines, why not deploy "by hand" and have a text file that maps containers to machines. If you're using a ton of machi

We can't agree on what constitutes a good diet, or even basic things like how much red meat or sugar are unhealthy, or indeed if they are even unhealthy at all. And yet you believe that we fully understand the consequences of modifying

In the abstract you're right, however in this case there are actually links between eating sugar and inflammation in the body. Sugar affecting arthritis is not a new concept; there's plenty of studies on the topic already out ther

Congrats man! Your IRC Q&A sessions (even on weekends!) were always a huge help and very appreciated. Thanks for such a great product and good luck in the future.

I agree but I don't see how this is relevant. Electricity in California is generated predominately from natural gas, a slightly cleaner burning fossil fuel than gasoline.

Food has no impact on the body's metabolism. All sources of calories affect the body equally, therefore weight gain is simply calories in and calories out. I've said it out loud but it doesn't quite ring true.

They're very similar, 2.8 vs 2.9 is not that big of a deal. The GT-R NISMO is perhaps even faster but again, fairly similar. Regardless these are expensive cars (>$100k) with impressive performance no doubt. It's worth pointing

Erlang provides location transparency for processes, meaning that you can send a message to a Pid (process identifier) as if it were running locally, when in fact it's running on another VM on another machine.
