There are parts of framing that are safer and easier with 2 people, but there are a few places that I used a block and tackle to haul stuff around by myself. The only days that I really needed extra hands was setting up the posts & beam

You probably know that you can find longer dimensional lumber at a lumber yard instead of a big box store. I am building my own 2-story 2-car garage, and was surprised at how many independent lumber yards there are tucked away around town.

I was just watching an interview between Scott Galloway and Richard Kramer discussing if the big 4 will be broken up. An insight I hadn't heard before was that anti-trust in the US is based on consumer harm, and since consumers get ser

I'm using a generic HiFiBerry clone that I got for $18 with a pi3b running Volumio as well. I'm using a 240GB SSD in a USB enclosure as the drive, and a cron job that keeps it synced with my fileserver. Only snag was finding a pow

I got cheap SSDs in cheap USB cases for my 2 Pis after getting annoyed with SD corruption. SSD prices have dropped recently after being flat for a long time. If you are really cheap the cases often go for $1 or free after rebate at newegg.

I have read this book and I would recommend as an alternative "The Richest Man In Babylon." It is more clearly a book of parables about building wealth and less about the route one person took to financial success.

I loved Snow Crash and The Diamond Age. I've read Anathem twice and loved it. And even though it clocks in at around 3,000 pages, The Baroque Cycle trilogy is so good I've read it 3 or 4 times and I'll probably read it again.
