I have a 2GiB swap on my 32 GiB worksation, and swappiness set to the lowest level. Why ? Because if I ever reached that situation, things will crawl to a halt and I might as well reboot. Also, 2G is so cheap I'm just paying the cargo

short answer, it does, the molecules still have inertia, the rotational part of the shaking (assuming it's not a perfectly directional shake) will cause some parts of the liquid to have a higher velocity than others, this in effect mea

hot take: keyboard layouts does not matter unless you're a professional typist.. Over the course of the day, my output is not limited by how fast I can get text out of my head, by how fast my brain can generate text.

I'm curious as to how you were able to get that idea from what I wrote. I'm making no assumptions _about_ intent. I'm saying whether it's a "red flag" depends _on_ intent (which is then assumed to be known, at

Personally, I'd prefer a partner who has not been overly promiscuous, because I myself have not. It affects me in multiple ways, for one, I'm looking for long-term stability, and while I don't think there's anything mora

I won't comment on some moral thing, having 23 partners can be entirely fine, but I think it depends on the intentionality.. Like, having 23 partners because, excuse my french "Elle voulait simplement baiser à tout va" is jus

I'm very rarely, I'm mostly using qalc on the commandline, but I do have a TI-30 from between 1976 and 1978 (the LED version) on my desk that I sometimes do basic calculations on.

"stepping away from the desk is seen as a loss of valuable work time, time we could otherwise use to tackle the next item on our to-do list" This sounds a bit of an unhealthy culture. The idea shouldn't be to look busy at all

I think it looks more like a bear imitating (rather successfully) human behavior, rather than a human imitating (rather badly) bear behavior.

Somehow this looks to me more like an animal (rather successfully) trying to imitate human motion, than a human (even a badly trained one) trying to imitate bear motion.

It's a two-track recorder, the "h1", so it has two microphones in there, with pretty good stereo imaging, I don't know about the directionality, it seems to pick up all around, but probably more in the human voice range.
