What's the licensing on AOSP? Everything I look for points to Google-owned things. Is it a GPL/similar that Google is actually legally required to share its changes?

Yes, exactly. Google products working worse on Firefox is a problem with Google, not Firefox. I'm not sure why the conflict of interest isn't more obvious.

I don't know about that. When I hear people reference "Google" it seems to me they do mean Google. Similar with "Claude".

I always try to use browser versions of things, but zoom just hasn't worked for me in it for changes. No error messages or anything, just insistence on downloading the app. I assumed they got rid of it but I guess not.

It benefits on the other end, if I share the link and you click on it, Google knows you got it from me and from where. People 100% don't click through to share original URLs.
