They might be able to support JIT by moving webkit out of process. I believe they do this now with the Mail UI. For more info see: http://oleb.net/blog/2012/10/remote-view-controllers-in-ios-6/

Just to clarify, in the newer iOS versions there are two classes of identifier that replace the UUID: identifierForVendor is not shared across vendors, but it is shared across apps from the same vendor. identiferForAdvertising is shared acr

Nice to see proper flash blocking in Safari. Previously, I ended up deleting the plugin and having to wipe out the package receipts to convince Apple to stop re-installing the plugin.

Hmm, I guess I've been using that term incorrectly to describe fixed substitution ciphers. It's been a few decades since I learned this stuff. It's effective at preventing a simple copy/paste or "view source" b

It looks like they're using a custom font with scrambled letters (essentially a caesar cipher) and your browser isn't loading/using that font. This is probably an attempt at DRM.

I believe the newer ones (2012) are much harder to get into. While the older models used magnets to hold the screen in place, the newer ones use adhesive. You now need guitar picks and a heat gun to get into it. See ifixit for details:

MathJax's HTML+CSS rendering looks much nicer than an image to me. I wish there was a way to run it on an HTML document in a batch fashion. (e.g. for generating an epub file)

If you're trying to figure this out by hand, without software, here is the general technique: 1. figure out how to swap two corners on the top layer, leaving the rest of the top layer intact, completely screwing up the bottom. 2. rotat

I know there are some hoops you have to jump through if you're selling an iOS app that uses encryption, which arguably could include HTTPS. There is a registration/approval process, but an exemption for certain cases. More details
