I'd be willing to bet already most people have no idea what OpenAI is, just like most people don't know what ByteDance is.

For personal stuff, the biggest expense it's time. Everything else--in the early days--can probably be founded with a handful of dollars a month. That would be hosting expenses and a domain name. And hosting can probably be tackled wit

Good for them! Lately I have been enjoying PeaZip[1] since it supports all platforms and a lot of formats. It also has some good UI and helpful functions. [1] https://peazip.github.io

It definitely is more of a Windows thing, but that's not saying much, since it's not like Windows is this niche OS that no one uses. I'd actually dare to say that more people have heard of WinRAR than tar.gz.

My favorite HN dark theme doesn't seem to be available any longer in its original form, but luckily I was able to save it. https://github.com/duiker101/hackernews-dark-amethyst

Most answers seem written by fanboys rather than legit answers. I would say go with what you know and are most comfortable with. You are more likely to get the better outcome.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any open source project that covers the one feature that I still use Google Maps for. Reviews. Does anyone know of any? I am wondering now if that's something that could be federated well.

My favorite testing HTTP Client is still just the IntelliJ built-in, pure text. You know exactly what you send without having to navigate menus and whatnot. In the end, 99% of HTTP requests are just that, text.

One thing that I actually love about Kagi, is that they tell you how much you cost them. In the settings, under billing, there is a usage tab where it says how much your queries cost. Apparently last month I "used" $2 more than I
