Yes I just wrote it above. What part left you with a doubt? I do think that it is indeed concerning when imitation is the only play a kid is able to perform. When a kid can only enjoy Spiderman lego sets that's because all they can pla

The fact that the idea of "conspiracy theory" survived the Snowden reveals shows how brainwashed/forgetful people can be.

Was she a scientist? I didn't know her, and after reading this, admittedly short, article it doesn't look like she was doing much more than technician work.

Maybe you should then question your parenting. I would be so distressed if my kid was incapable of creating original play without the support of a franchised movie. Also, no my son is not lying to me.

Your anecdote is not an anecdote, it's a made up fact. My son is way more excited by my old sets with pirates, astronauts and castles than he is by the latest franchised crap like marvel, Harry Potter and all. Here, at least mine is a

I lived 2 years in Sweden, I just bought a good winter coat. Somehow that an a few good sweaters/base layers were enough to keep me warm without hammering my face every evening. But that's just me I guess.

Billboards are kind of funny to me because I wonder if they really work. I would assume that people living in the city are so used to them that they don't even notice them.

That's one member of the family not being supportive. Doesn't equate to zero support from the whole family. The paragraph quoted above seems to imply that going back to her parents was an option.

Parent doesn't want to dismiss the writer's experience, just the conclusion. Seems reasonable to me to want as many details as possible to accept a conclusion. An experience is a different thing.

Hard disagree, however, when taking pictures on vacation or when sightseeing I always try to include somebody from the group (be it friends, family, etc) in the pictures. 20 years in the future I don't know if I'll care to look at

They do that at my kids school, KG and grade 2. They have to take out the trash, sweep the floor, dust the deks, etc. Kids are still on the younger side so it's really just ~15min at the end of the day. Still, good habit.

Serious question: why is NATO even needed? Shouldn't it have been dissolved after the collapse of USSR? The war is Russia's fault, but it's also in reaction to the attempt to expand, again, a treaty that was specifically pu
