I think they need to make some more drastic changes that that. They need to break up the company, and have several new CEO's. All their cash cows are tied to the personal computing industry, and it is coming to an end faster than they can

I would've thought something like Mechanical Turk would be more valuable. Mining WoW gold sounds like something that could be fuuly automated. Why not have them do things that require human insight instead?

As an application developer the VPS/cloud model is very appealing. So much so, I think you'd be nuts not to build a datacenter that doesn't target this market. I'm not interested in floor space, dedicated servers, or supplying my own hard

From what I've seen Ashton Kutcher tends to invest in companies that make tech that he really wants use. I don't think profit is really the number one thing on his mind - he already has money. And since it was revealed that he was involved

If that kind of thing is possible, then I wonder what other things could be replaced. I'm thinking along the lines of a distributed SSL authentication service.

Think about it this way, if you ballbark their maximum exit at $30M, and you own 1%, you end up with $300,000. But the chance of that happening are slim. You already make good money, at $85K per year you can save and invest more than $300

Oops I missed that part. Argument retracted. Yeah this isn't a good enough deal given his situation. I'd ask for a lot more equity or walk.

Sigh. I didn't say the game was a waste of time, or that FPS games or dead, or anything like that. If you're going to be pedantic, at least try to interpret an opinion literally.

Except all of Microsoft's profitable business lines are in a dying industry, the personal computing industry. It's kind of an ironic role-reversal for IBM and Microsoft given their history and the way MS became the behemoth it is.

My point was this is being released far too late for me to care. I was anxious about a sequel in the late 90's. But now it's been so long that I no longer use the technology or this type of entertainment anymore.

I would have much preferred a lackluster sequel 14 years ago than an amazing game today. I no longer own a Windows PC, play first person shooters, or use a mouse.
