Really the only people making any money here are the underwriter and venture capitalists who took this company public - the guys who pumped up and are now dumping these shares. While they're high fiving eachother with a job well done it's

I spent 3 months in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and loved it. Rent for a nice 2 bed townhouse was $1000 but cheaper is possible. It's a surfing beach with a bit of a nightlife. Lots of europeans, I met several british people there. The food

At least this time around they're trying to extinguish companies that aren't innovating and actually standing in the way of further progress.

Pretty much everyone who's done a startup could accuractly predict what would happen to Diaspora. They were a bunch of young guys who hadn't been in the real world long enough to know they were up against. Funny enough, if they hadn't rec

A few years ago I would've said yes. But, thanks to the iPhone and Android, so much new technology has come to web browsers recently that there aren't many reasons to develop native desktops apps anymore.

The bothersome thing about the Skype acquisition is that it's really not going to save them at all. It was a statement purchase. They bought it to show off. They could have bought up a lot of innovative, smaller companies for $8.5B... som

I did not mean that literally Indonesian teenagers are in India finding PHP jobs. I meant that people in many poor countries (Indonesia, India, Philippines etc) must be competing for these minimum wage programming jobs.

It's good that at least someone is trying to address this. There are no decent freelance/telecommuter oriented job sites. The ones out there are generally geared toward the "let's outsource to India" style gigs -- I really can't compete w
