LOL, sitting here with a VRML .wrl file I made in the late 90s. Maybe I can finally open it again, without a browser plug-in this time :)

Oh, that thing where iOS shows a oarticular app icon on the dock that I don't want there, but then hides it again before I have to remove it. Gee, thanks for that Siri. I guess the Android version will also have no Off switch for the u

Hmm, the three women have the same swimsuits on, and the vertical posts along the balconies don't match. I think this is two different but similarly equipped pools at the same Motel!

there are pro speakers with digital inputs (not just for a clean signal, but usually to do some digital correction for the speaker response) but then you are stuck with that DAC, amp and speaker combination, and you either need a volume con

or just FM - FM on tape was used for data aquisition in the 60s in cases where dynamic range and linearity were more important than bandwidth.

The new one is even more sweet and rich than the eggs (more like a dessert than a snack) and harder to eat for a young child, so not surprising.

Here's the second example convolved with 30ms white noise: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WwmCNwWwukhtYXRT4mDHxCUa0sQ... But it also makes it sound like she's in a closet, so it would be better to fix

The "chirping" artifacts are quite distracting. I wonder if they can be avoided by randomizing the alignment of the final piecing together of the audio? Post-processing by convolving with a short noise burst removes them pretty we

It doesn't have to be white - pink noise works the same just sounds more muffled/bassy. It's more that there is no distinct pattern in the time domain for the ear to pick out, which would add echoes or metallic ringing. The s

Yes, take a few seconds of white noise, apply an exponentially decaying envelope, and convolve with the input signal. Of course there is a lot more you can do: high frequencies decay faster in a real room, the envelope could be a more compl

While Schroeder's algorithm sounds like reverberation, these days it might not be confused for 'natural sounding'. Well, to be fair there is worse sounding reverberation in real life (garages). A better sounding algorithm is

filters with a sharper cutoff will 'ring' more, smearing sharp changes in the signal out over time. It's a pretty subtle effect when it's all happening above 20 kHz though

I wouldn't say "extremely hostile", more "unbothered" that their licensing conditions don't suit open source projects. They have tried to open things up a bit, but only for VST3 not the obsolete-in-their-opinio
