I thought GP comment was replying to this in GGP comment: >IMO running your own Kubernetes cluster for a company is insanity unless you have a very good reason to do so. To me, "running your own" means "on-prem", and

I think the key element here is that you are using GKE. Managed cloud Kubernetes, and self-hosted on-prem Kubernetes are two different beasts. Yes, it's easy when you don't actually have to run the cluster yourself. Ansible has it

An on-prem "production ready" k8s cluster in under a day? What kind of businesses are you setting this up for? Are these all greenfield projects? I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that. We run on-prem k8s, on bare meta

Not that I have mastered it, but what I have found richly rewarding, and in a similar vein, is learning about MIDI and beatmaking. I bought a MIDIFighter 3D from DJ Tech Tools, and just started messing around. I'm still a novice, but e

The Scion xB is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I traded in my 2001 Jetta VR6 (mystifying mass airflow sensor issues VW could never fix for more than a couple weeks) for an xB in 2004. It had its flaws, but for a daily driver, I

Same here. My kids have early dismissal every Wednesday. The winter and spring breaks are 4 weeks(!!!). They schedule "open house" type events which you are expected to attend monthly at 2:30pm on a Friday. I'm very lucky tha

I used to work for Music Trader, which was a local San Diego used media chain that was purchased by CDNow. It's been forever since I've seen that name! Crazy to think they ended up being bought by Amazon. I was only there for like

I've seen arguments that water is a form of ash, since it is already oxidized and cannot be combusted (I guess in pure flourine it can). So I guess one could argue that fish are covered in ashes.

Ah, I was confused by the parent post, I thought we were discussing 401k and "savings" as separate things. I'm not sure what others have saved in theirs, but in my case, it was more like $200,000 in my 401k when I got divorce

According to the article you linked, based on your age (I'm in the same cohort), the average 401k is worth $91,000. Are you not contributing at all to your 401k? Did you get a late start, or have some hardship that required you to brea
