Awesome stuff! The water droplet one looks amazing.

Agreed. I was just talking today about how I missed the days of yanking trial CD-ROMs from magazines to get that next free month with a cardgen. I love seeing old technologies like this still in use, especially with modern libraries, etc. I

If you order a kit, pay a bit more to get one with instructions! The quality of the kits seems pretty hit and miss. I would go with a branded AxiDraw instead of a clone if I had it to do again.

Your blog posts are what inspired me to purchase a plotter kit of my own! Thank you! Now if I could just get it to work... ;)

I ordered a plotter kit off of ebay a few weeks ago with zero instructions. I finally found an assembly video online in Chinese and managed to get it built, but still haven't been able to get it to print anything using Inkscape, which

Is it spelled "Peace" deliberately or is that a typo?

Like you, I had always heard "k rail". I'm a California native. Apparently, "k rail" is more common in the west because it is the name of spec for concrete barriers used by the CA Dept of Transportation. You learn s

My son is in kindergarten and one of his Vietnamese classmates gave everyone a red envelope with a $2 in it for Lunar New Year. I have also received a similar gift from a Chinese co-worker, so maybe that's where some are going?

IPFS does sound like it might be close to what you are looking for, just based off my little experience playing with it. I want to try to leverage a private deployment for dataset sharing for analytics, etc.

Exactly. Most of these read as "I went into a different specialization of the same field". Where is the engineer that just chucked it all and opened a donut shop? That's the level I want to know about. Most of these are just

The word "abuse" has been thrown around enough now to have lost almost all meaning. What OP described is called "being a parent".

Have you tried using the scl repos from RedHat/CentOS? I use it at work yo enable different versions of Python at a system level if I am unable to muck with it because of yum. I believe they are available for CentOS 5.x?

I wasn't recommending os.system() ever, OP used it in the example. Subprocess is better, as you said. I think the sh module is better than Subprocess as well.
