This is unfortunate. Trying to figure out what it would take to keep the site alive, because I do think it serves a useful purpose and the costs of keeping it alive are likely minimal.

Longer decks still work -- even today. Possible reason: Often, decks are shared before a meeting is taken, so the really good ones are designed to be read (not just presented).

That's a really low bar. The market (at least here in the U.S.) for talent is so competitive that a company has to go well beyond the basics of paying on time and providing great hardware.
