Luckily if you’re a developer on MacOS, you can have that too! In addition to ~/.config and a million .dotfiles and .dotdirectories from decades of unixy tools! Truly a cornucopia.

In a thread about dysfunctional and mismanaged projects, you describe a very dysfunctional and mismanaged project in a way that brings out the hilarity, frustrations, contradictions, and impossibilities of the situation. Good job! And then

100% of strict parents would say they have a good relationship with their kids (or within a rounding error). If you asked adult children of strict parents if that was true, you would get fewer than 100% positive responses. People aren’t alw

I have junior engineers try solving their problem on their own for an hour. If they make no progress, ask for help. If they make some progress, repeat. I think it's a good learning experience while also providing a safety net, and I&#x

For the core field operatives, it seemed many had unrealistic expectations of their chance of success, and were pumped on a success-or-death mentality. In retrospect it’s easy to see why that would lead to lax operational security. Now that

I have a 2012 iMac that is no longer supported, so I installed the latest Ubuntu on it and it works very well. So if you run into that situation again, Linux is a very viable option.

It seems to be the case that all social networks decline eventually. This one is rather remarkable for the speed and intensity of its fall.

Hey, why have facts when you can guess? More seriously, Twitter has been a toxic cesspool long before Elon made it worse, and I’m happy I deleted my account and have never missed it. Actually it’s been a boon when I visit a Twitter link a

Yes, in US fintech there are mandatory courses in anti-money laundering and know your customer laws that programmers are required to take along with everyone else. I don’t know what exists in the crypto world operating in the Bahamas, but I

I have to strongly disagree with you. In my opinion a policy like this would err on valuing form over content, when content matters a great deal. Downvotes (and upvotes) can be a signal for content as well as form. For example, an articulat
