Yes, but given that it's open-source I imagine if there was a back-door in it, someone would have found it by now. That said, they could purposefully have excluded security triggers for vulnerable kernel exploits which haven't bee

Well, rabbitmq is kind of a pain to get working with it. Additionally, the modules for rabbitmq and mcollective, for puppet, don't really work that well together (read: I had to re-write the ones I found to get them working).

Same here. Most seem to expect you to do the Heroku route and just run your database off of another cloud service... well, what if I DON'T want to do that? The answer seems to be oh well for many projects. Frustrating for sure.

Openshift per the #openshift channel only currently supports scaling of HTTP resources (I'm a bit surprised about that). I currently use Cloudify, but have had some... issues and they use a Java agent which is pretty memory heavy, so I

I did see the openstack Docker integration and it seems like a very interesting prospect. Hopefully something that will be integrated into the core Openstack project (although perhaps it might be better to integrate LXC into Openstack and t

I've seen your guys site before actually. I thought you were a Puppet house, not Chef though? Sounds interesting to be sure though! I'll keep an eye on your site.

Saw this a while back. It looks like a fun little project for Docker. What I'd be more interested in is seeing a more robust version of something like this (and the author mentions it on his Github). Things like scaling ability and sim

I think it not outside the realm of realistic to imagine that the NSA has the ability to break all/nearly all encrypted data with ease. I mean, I have had quite a few friends with PhD level mathematics degrees hired by the NSA. Haven&#

Wait, what? WPScan is a standalone Ruby script. You run it against a Wordpress site. There's nothing to install on the WP website in question. You can even run it against public WP websites if you wanted to (although I imagine you migh

I had an attached comment with this information but want to break it out as it will likely be useful to people without lots of time dealing with the various ways Wordpress can/will (mostly will) get attacked. First: Double-check your f

Clone of Heroku? None I'm aware of. A bring-your-own PaaS? Many. I work with Cloudify myself: http://www.cloudifysource.org/ Nice things: It integrates with Chef/Puppet, allows built-in auto-scaling so it's cloud independent... has recipe

I don't really agree with this. If you're defining a whole crazy master/agent relationship with Puppet then it's overkill for them, no doubt. There's a reason many Vagrant boxes I see use Puppet to instantiate though: It's friggin simple to

That's actually, honestly, a bad way to do it. It's fine to pre-load an instance with source and application/package dependencies. At this point though, you really should be backing those up with it being deployed by Puppet/Chef. Essentiall
