I mean, temporary alleviation of symptoms can be extremely valuable. Think of how many people are on SSRIs that have mixed effectiveness, side-effects, and have to be taken daily. Then compare that with a treatment that you do once a month

This might actually be a great direction to go. I don't think there's any particular reason that WASM has to be more obfuscated than JS. You can already throw a WASM file into a bytecode-to-text translator which is about as useful

There's also a more subtle version of this, where the seller leaves the listing the same, but once enough positive reviews have accumulated they move production to a cheaper factory and use cheaper materials. So you might see older rev

I think you've almost got it... Literally anything that can affect someone's life is political.

Giving someone public recognition also gives recognition to anything that person might say. If they are known for believing that killing certain groups of people is okay, then giving them recognition is inherently political.

Don't pretend like the US government has a good justification for this. It's purely another attempt to destabilize the country even more. The entire purpose of these sort of sanctions is to hurt the public enough that they start p

Yeah, but for legal purposes it doesn't matter if "everyone knows" about the real reasons. The company gets to have it both ways. Send a message that unionization isn't tolerated, while saying in court that unionization

At least the GDPR turned out to have one good use... What the hell was the uni doing trying to suppress activists to begin with? That's kind of a hostile school/student relationship.

I'm not entirely convinced about some of the other stuff, but you should probably call the power company about the microwave leakage from that transformer. They're not supposed to do that.

We're always going to need to see URLs. They're not going away. They're just talking about a better default view to show the user relevant information about where they are, which would be a good thing. Being generous, maybe h

You can still click and see the whole URL. This is just making it easier for the average user to see the most important thing to them, which is the domain name. It's not like they're just changing stuff randomly. The TLS padlock c

This seems fine. I'm assuming you can always click to expand and show the full URL. For a lot of people (devs especially) it would be nice to be able to change an option to see the whole URL at a glance, but for most people it's j

Basically there's a bunch of different vulnerabilities in various chipsets and operating systems that can, in some cases, allow remote code execution. The most common fault seems to allow a remote attacker to pretend to be an internet

I use Chrome most of the time. It's devtools just can't be beat at the moment. I'm excited to hear Mozilla is getting back on modernizing Firefox though. It'll be nice to have options again.

I would imagine that LEDs will work fine as-is. They generally come mounted on something much sturdier than a thin tungsten wire.
