I had spent some time trying to get ChatGTP to act as a chess program. I was able to get it to draw a chess board with Unicode symbols and make legal moves as white. Eventually the game state got messed up. Maybe GTP-4 will get there.

And plainly, if we all needed to be nuclear physicists to talk and think about this, there would be no comments and no articles. Your comment also does not advance the conversation.

Truth. I hung onto Android for many years for that little shred of more choice, mostly the ability to install APKs. But Apple’s stability and user experience runs laps around Android and it’s extremely hard to justify not going with iPhone.

When ever has “being a democracy” meant, “we need to give our adversaries unlimited ability to feed propaganda and disinformation directly to our citizens”? Our rights apply to our citizens, not to foreign governments. They should have no r

It’s pretty massively different actually. Many US companies tried to operate in China, but the theft of trade secrets and uneven playing field was so bad that they eventually all pulled out. The Chinese government very explicitly wanted to

And that is great! My issue is the way the science is reported in the media making it sound like we are on the cusp on some kind of energy revolution, when we very much are not and don’t even have a line of sight on it yet. But then I suppo

Why not? China doesn’t allow our social media. Why should we allow theirs? We can easily copy the best parts of the platform and let our companies take their users. Plus, social media can be used for mass political manipulation, and what ju

That depends on its dexterity. Can a crane use tools, weld, rivet and so on? Certain not. But this machine m, once refined could plausibly do all of those things and is seen using some kind of grasper tool.

I get you and I think you are spot on. We spend a lot of our time in life being rewarded for showing up on time, following instructions, and filling our time keeping busy. Learning yet another way to accomplish the same task is right in the

I find it relevant since it’s at the intersection of parenting and algorithmic hyper-media. It’s one person’s experience, and we can agree or disagree, but all the same, it’s one real parent with real children trying to navigate around thi

I agree that it’s cynical, but I suspect we will see less reproductive freedoms as states see their population growth go negative. Why use the carrot when you have a perfectly good stick.
