The offices are unoccupied and can’t be lived in. The people who used to go to them now desire more space at home since they now spend much more time there. Big demand for residential square footage while companies are trying to shed their

From my use of Bard, I think it’s main issue is poor alignment due to lack of RLHF dataset. Open AI has been curating its data set for years as it aggressively pushed to productization. Google never cared about getting its models into the h

For the most part there seems to be no connection at all. This is a new and interesting tool that anyone can go use in whatever way they see for to improve their creative or productive process. I used it this week to teach me some of the fi

I think this misses this biggest cultural revolution to happen in decades, which is AI assisted art and creativity. It’s been ages since I saw a new paradigm in art that really caught my attention. It seems like elite artists have not had m

I have yet to see anyone explain or explore why text could not be trained on multiple times. And is there any reason a text passage wouldn’t be just as good run backwards as forwards? Predicting the previous word in a sentence seems just as

No, it is just an arbitrary version number for this series of models from OpenAI. They will flip to 5 when they make an architecture change that will force them to begin training from scratch. Until then they will continue to produce more r

I think Dall-e 3 basically exists in Bing. It is significantly better than Dall-e 2 and is close but not quite at the quality of Midjourny v5. I just generated a series of about 40 portraits and even the hands are significantly closer.

Based on published research from Google and Meta it is somewhat known how much more capability is possible with the current approach, but it would require an extreme increase in compute and training set to achieve it. There are diminishing

Actually I agree with them a new name would be helpful. I would propose inorganic intelligence to try to pick a term with less value judgments. AI is really an overloaded term that includes 70 years of snake oil, Skynet, the Singularity and

It seems like a silly meme. There was an “AI Winter” with a catchy name once so everyone is always waiting for another one. It’s exactly the kind of stochastic parrot thing that makes LLMs seem so human.

I suspect it will be a technical marvel that will still break, not make. It’ll be an amazing vision of what will eventually replace phones decades from now. Think Apple Newton to the iPhone. I think it will be the high water mark in this ge

I love VR and AR. I think it’s incredible and will eventually replace phones as the primary UI. It’s just too versatile, ambient computing around you all the time, anywhere from a single button to a virtual interactive world. I think though
