So, the average user from Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan etc is worth 1% of the average US user or less? Do you wear a red baseball cap?

No. They are saying 1605 USD is the average amount Google make from a user in the US.

Correct. If 250 M people use it in the US out of a population of 349 M, Google would make 401 B USD out of them, vs 403 B USD in worldwide revenues. These numbers do not look right to me.

There's a problem... Population of the US: 349 M, of which 250-300 M use Google services, multiplied by 1605 USD per user = from 401 B USD to 481 B USD, but in 2025 Alphabet did 403 B in total, from every service, in the whole world.

I second your request. I don't live in the US. I am familiar with Warby Parker and, to a lesser extent, with Gymshark and Liquid Death, but it needs to be proven that they became well known thanks to online advertising. I have no idea

Perhaps it’s just me. I’m not a very social person, and it seemed like I had to reconnect with people I had gladly forgotten, or ended up having arguments with people I barely knew but had somehow ‘friended’, or with their friends. I firs

I wrote a very short ebook on the subject some 10 years ago, 15 Questions About Online Advertising. It should be available for free on Apple Books, Google Books, Kobo etc, or for 0.99 on Amazon.

It works very well for the HUGE players who sell it, Google, Meta, Amazon and not many more. It can help a small advertiser get a small number of customers to try out their offering. It does not and will not create brands. If you disagree,

Not that the ‘social’ part was ever very good in the first place, but they are right, it’s not social anymore.

It's hard to disagree with you. What would be worth asking is: Why? And also: What can be done to change this in the future?
