Would love for an LA event, but I am not holding my breath. People in Los Angeles are notoriously flaky and rarely attended tech events before the pandemic. Went to my first IRL tech event since 2020 a couple of weeks ago and only two peopl

This occurred to me in the 2000s in NYC. Repeated (I kept on getting "disconnected") calls to 311 always led to an operator that proceeded to victim blame me. "Are you sure you do not have parking tickets?", "Are y

Making an assumption, so far I have only read the CNBC article. Many of the recent tech layoffs included entire departments not entirely related to the operation of the business, the core product. For example: recruiting departments. When e

I have found that there is very little difference between a senior, junior and even intern engineer. The responsabilities are the same, but a senior generally completes tasks faster and is paid more. The same JIRA tickets. It is not until y

Meetup.com will first offer a group whose organizer had stepped down to the members of the group. They will not shut down a group easily. I disagree that they shared emails since I do not think organizers have access you that data.

"companies want people who are smart enough to do the work, but obedient enough to put up with all the bullshit" Which is why I love leetcode interviews: I get an insight at how a company, especially tech management, operates. Du

Judging by the recruiting emails I receive, FAANG companies are definitely not interested in remote employees. I get 2-3 emails a week from Amazon, and they always list an office, but hint at remote possibilities. I suspect it is Amazon tha
