It’s a big pie, they’re also fairly different. And to be honest it’s only a matter of time before Telegram has a (public) security incident that drives much more people to E2EE messaging.

I’ll bet that user’s sending plaintext sms’s thinking they were secure end to end encrypted messages did much more harm.

You do realise Telegram isn’t secure (non-e2ee), is Russian owned and is based in the Middle East. Enjoy whatever privacy that provides.

Well for what it’s worth it sounds like you weren’t really using Signal for secure messaging anyway… so not much of a loss.

Not sure you’re correct, its still possible for a malicious home-server to add a malicious client to a user and spy on the conversation. This is because the protocol doesn’t require room management messages to be authenticated?

Super humble guy. Chatted with Peter a few times at meet-ups, talks etc. Never had any idea he was so accomplished. He will be missed.

When did you throw in the towel? In the last year or so they’ve been rock solid for reliability. (Note: some Android devices background app memory/power/cpu management of Signal effetely makes any type of messenger useless.)

Not even going to try engagement with you, your replies either lack any sort of critical analysis of the facts or you’re acting in bad faith. Putin has lied since day 1. His words betrayed his motives and the facts about his actions are cle

Medium is pretty much on death row now. It’s gone through so many failed business model changes, its not a pleasant reading experience, and it’s brand isn’t great.

And idea why the Apple Weather app still has the “The Weather Channel” logo on it? I hope they continue to support Darksky, at least until the Apple Weather app is on par with it.
