It’s using the Nerves project! I’m bias since I work directly with the Nerves Foundation a lot these days but it’s such a wonderful development experience to get Linux based embedded stuff up and running :)

Y’all should really give Erlang/Elixir a try… this stuff is so much more trivial to deal with in that ecosystem and it pains me that it doesn’t get as much attention as Go does.

the real fun is when they'll eventually make you look at an ad while paying, your eyes will HAVE to be open! new meaning to "eyeball" count for the ad sellers :)

I simply cannot agree, but again, it's a personal thing. I never ever find voice interfaces useful though... Aside: When the presenter showed the demo of her asking Siri to figure out the airport arrival time and then gloat it "wo

Happy as long as there is a switch to toggle it all off somewhere. I find very little of this useful. Maybe someone does, and that’s great! And my concern isn’t from a privacy perspective, just a “I want less things cluttering my screen” pe

Neat — big fan of TUIs! But I’m an even bigger fan of coffee… so show me where that coffee actually is sourced from… Did you go and source it from farms? Is this sourced from another company? Whose blend? Do you provide the roast date on

For the unfortunate times where I need to use a Lyft, and it also happens to be a Tesla, I am ALWAYS shocked at how cheap the whole vehicle feels. They're also some of the roughest feeling rides I've ever had, I can feel every bum

Funny, this happened to me specifically. We were an all Elixir (and legacy Ruby) shop with some wildly smart engineers. Got acquired and jammed into another larger org. Got pressured to switch to Java and Go without considering that maybe o

Not a lot of technology I have work with every day “sparks joy”. But the Elixir language is one that’s usually an exception! I really encourage people to take a look at it even if you don’t end up using it right away- the OTP actor pattern

VSCode support for the language is better than ever, outside of VSCode too! NextLS and ElixirLS provide the editor integration you’re probably looking for :)

You can’t report a good number of forms with this thing that I would have liked to see for those who work gig jobs and then get stuck having to pay Intuit money: 1099-K, 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, Tips etc — That being said! This is just a pilot

One of the coolest additions to my home lab recently was an Orange Pi 5 plus/pro - 8 core ARM 64-bit cpu and 32GB of RAM all with awesome power usage and zero noise, plus an up to date kernel. I skipped the rpi as well a while back but

I’m not new to macOS by any means, used it for work for far more than 2 years - so I do know this pain, but I’m not a huge system extension user so I’m probably an outlier

You can use an app currently in the App Store called "yattee" -- you can add an Invidious source in the settings, and viola you're good to go. I self-host mine, but you can totally point it at a community hosted one.

I don't mind renaming it. It didn't cross my mind initially that it would be a problem. I want developers to have quick and frictionless tools when trying to hack out ideas. That was the main idea behind Teex anyways! If it makes

Hey all! Thanks for all the enthusiasm for this little hacky tool. I'll be working on renaming the cli tool to 'teex' soon to avoid conflicts with TeX.
