Are you suggesting that if you have a product that performs better than the previous version 99.999999% of the time, but that 0.000001% of the time it performs terribly, in your opinion, the new version is worse?

I’m not an expert in the matter, but I’ve heard that modern wood frames are just as good as steel frames. If the fire is close and strong enough to ignite a wood stud, the steel stud would already fail. Though would love input from an exper

Exactly my thoughts. I kept thinking the interesting part is coming, but no, it’s just someone’s thoughts on a pre-alpha concept that nobody even pretends will ever become a reality.

Yes, and she has done more about it than the vast majority of not just people, but public servants. She has helped pass a ton of legislation as Speaker of the House. You might not agree with her politics, but she has done a lot.

How does that make Pelosi particularly gross? That applies to any person that’s well off.

What do you find gross about that? That there are people suffering while others are well-off? That rich, powerful people are friends with other rich, powerful people? Not seeing how that makes Pelosi particularly "gross."

With 538 members of our government bodies making trades at "random", with typical trading intervals, it doesn't seem so outrageous that a few times a year there will be a trade that looks to be made on insider information. I&

It doesn't get enough attention? The "algorithms" are all anyone talks about when it comes to this issue. I think people put way too much weight on them. Once you have enough people participating in a single conversation, fro

I did the same thing. Used to hoard data, bookmarks, pdfs, etc. Then I put all my data on an external drive and into some bin in the garage, deleted all my bookmarks and stopped saving them. And then realized... I don't need any of it.

Average efficiency of a car in 1970 was 11 MPG. Today we are at an average of 25 MPG (and that's only because gas is still too cheap) and many non-electric cars get up to 40 MPG. Newer electric cars like the Model 3 are at about 130-15

My point is that OP's comment is not relevant. It's not like the costs are high per capita, the costs are high per mile. In which case, the population density doesn't matter.

I don't see how this is relevant to this discussion. NYC is plenty dense yet it has the same issues with cost.

I understand using the official docs to look up some lesser-used parts of an API, but Stackoverflow is pretty useless to me nowadays. Most of the problems I run into are way too specific to my situation for SO to be of any help.
