I'm running Pleroma in the same use case, it works fine for me I think. If other people want to do that and switch from Twitter -> Fediverse, I wrote a bunch of scripts to switch from Twitter to Fediverse : https://git.sr

It would be interesting to have a `reverse` blog post "why Go compilation time is fast" e.g. which optimizations are overlooked/done quickly by the go compiler ? Could the binary quality be improved by increasing the compilat

I guess this article is to be taken lightly as kind of a "joke" ? The first proposed macro displayln is the archetype of malpractice. What if I want to do: if(some_condition) displayln("enjoy debugging that"); etc etc...

You can peek at : https://matrix.org/docs/develop/ tldr; similar to signal afaik The docs there for E2E are fairly old but get you an idea how it works. E2E has improved a lot in the last few months IMHO.

Yes, things are still moving fast. AFAIK the final 1.0 version of the protocol spec was only released last Summer. The "I missed message because I only use xxx for that one thing" is valid for every app as long as you have fragm

For messaging, I highly encourage people to use matrix.org. For tech savvy people it's really easy to self-host https://github.com/spantaleev/matrix-docker-ansible-deploy and the good part is that you can set up b

Yes this is why I said the benchmark is poorly written. It encourages frameworks to do such thing. Even if you look at the code of hyper for the benchmark, it does some ugly things not recommended in production. I'm not blaming actix&#

Do you have any benchmark to back this assertion by any chance ? The only benchmark I know of is https://www.techempower.com/benchmarks/ which is really poorly done but it's better than nothing. Rust seems to some

AFAIK if you properly define the From/To operator, rust generates it for you. And if you think about it, defining those operator is a good practice as it tells your program how to handle errors.
