Being less specific gives you a pretty decent result, though. Try plain old Zelda, then shopping: http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=zelda&mkt=en-US...

Getting people to seriously try a new search engine does take some work. The $100 million is probably an attempt to overcome the branding effect described in this article a week ago: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=626960

With market set to Australia, the logo says 'bing Beta'. It says 'bing preview' for the US. I guess it's not fully baked for non-US markets. I wonder if the advertising campaign is restricted to the US?

The core algorithm is the same as Live's, but there is more to a search engine than ten blue links. Did the marketing actually say it was a whole new algorithm/indexer? It'll be interesting to see if the extraneous features catch on or not.

A sidebar does not make the UI terribly more complex. Google even added one, but it's hidden behind a 'Show options' link by default. And a pretty photo versus the occasional Google Doodle is just a matter of taste. I like the photo myself.

Ok, but using the previous version of the language to demonstrate your point is much less interesting. Additionally, there is the issue of clarity: when I read "C#" I tend to assume that means the language as it exists today, not some previ

Your logo and red and yellow colour scheme make me think of fast food. You should add Javascript to make my browser display the URL in the status bar when my mouse hovers over a result.

I really like the idea. A few things I noticed: Tagging a conversation with a pronoun like "I" will probably means it sticks around forever. Can you join multiple conversations at once? What happens if two conversations share a tag? Are the

Thanks for your input. I might try to remove the implicit expectations that are placed on him. Even though since he withdrew I am careful not to pressure him, I'm sure he still feels there are expectations upon him.

Yes, it is. I'm going to talk to the school about that since it must be a pretty widespread problem. Maybe next year he can be placed with other students in his core classes.

Part of the reason for getting into his school was so that he could be exposed to better influences. As I said, the problem with our mother is complicated, but I have tried to talk to her about this. Her problem is that she never sticks at
