Love it. You should provide a link to Patreon / whatever so people can support you financially. Hosting is probably not cheap for you. Given the love here on HN I suspect you'd do well.

It's really nice, and a great idea but the lack of basic thought on look and feel really puts me off. I know probably some feel this is trivial and not as important somehow as the idea / execution but to me it's critical that

Personally I see the b/s scaremongering, the likes of the Farage bus and the hateful rhetoric of the Daily Heil as the "plain sight manipulation" in creating a manufactured problem with the EU which simply never existed, but

Amen to this. Two case studies from the UK I've been thinking about recently: 1) Visiting London and spending time in South Kensington - walking back to hotel at night, only about 30% of houses had any lights on. Suggestion is the othe

There’s an interesting and quite muddy line between having some kind of knowledge or support about “where to go next” in musical progression and something that feels like it’s too much of an automated decision making process. The former - k

You'd be really pushed to live on $150/m food. That's £110. Even if you went veggie, super healthy, cooked yourself I think you'd struggle. And zero going out or booze...

I like Mylio[0] - it's local only but syncs p2p style across local network. Or obviously you can sync folders with Whatever Online Service you choose, Mega or whatever. https://mylio.com

Funny, my immediate thought was - wow, this is super useful, better reach for my wallet. Not sure in which world $25 is a lot to spend for this.

I know we love evidence, and rightly so. But I do think there is space here for intuition. Is a life of mindless clicking ever going to be as good as a real one, spent in the company of real people who aren’t endlessly distracted? Is a suns

New SaaS idea: a busyness simulator that sits on your home pc clicking between emails, running semantically correct work-based searches and sending occasional high value Slack responses. I'd imagine the AI ability to do this would be p

Find someone (I’m one!) who is sits between nerdery and business requirements. I spend 90% of my time being a sort of nerd-translation layer between dev / design people and clients. I’m sometimes frustrated by being a generalist (espec

Ok, so say it took a week. (For me it’d be longer, I’m a mediocre coder at best…) - but say a week. That’s £2500 in my time. That’s 10 years of me buying a license. Plus, my tool would be out of date pretty soon with no active development.

Yeh, I know the route too. I think I'm just of the boy scout opinion that you should have the kit and be prepared, especially as you say when conditions change so quickly.

Sorry, but if you're using Google maps to get up mountains you seriously need to consider how sensible it is that you're allowed anywhere near a mountain in the first place. Personal responsibility plays a role here.

I'd argue that kids need the tools and techniques to understand how to deal with dodgy online content, rather than locking it away. Prohibition tends to drive things underground; I'd rather have (and am having - I have 2 teenage k

What's interesting about Flow to me is that on the face of it it's the exact opposite of mindfulness. As a meditation teacher, I've learnt that meditative spaces are those where you are concentrating fully on the moment, and
