Japan is actually the largest, fwiw. These Fed programs are being financed by debt spending, not tax increases. So even if some of this debt is held by US tax payers, it's not at their expense. They're getting paid interest.

The first link here is more aptly Japan and China. And, to make this really circular, Ireland also is one of the largest holders of US debt.

Great advice, and this is something I have been looking into. Honestly, it boils down to risk threshold. I'm in the frame of mind, but not enough to leave my job and put my family at risk. Fine for me to live in a box, not fine for them.

Intrinsically, if you believe in what you are doing, there is little of higher value.

Minorities, perhaps. But they definitely exist. There was zero representation. How can you build a legit network of startup mentors without much diversity?

You're not nuts, if that's what you want to do, then do it. However, the truth is 30 is not young for an entry level developer. Most 30 year-olds are accustom to a higher income than a 22 year-old CS grad, and this might make some employers

I don't want to put words in his mouth, but it sounds like David is arguing that should Zuckerberg decide to just walk away from Facebook today, he would have a very difficult time coming up with $6.9B in cash in exchange for his equity. (N

Go. You will learn more than you think. I started programming at 7 and still learned a great deal in some of my CS classes. College will round you out as an individual. Sure, some classes will feel like a monumental waste of time, but just

Dropbox killer is a bit dramatic. This seems to focus on syncing with Google Docs and desktop apps, Dropbox's aim is much more broad. I would venture to guess Dropbox already has something like this in the works as a feature.

Have you been approached by any VCs in the past? I would revisit that if possible. In my experience, there is no shortage in VC contact for any, even modestly, profitable business online. So, I am sure you've heard from at least a small han

RVM rocks I can't imagine working without it. Great to see it hit Version 1. Plus, Wayne is, hands down, one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

If the US government is going after Assange (and they clearly would like to talk with him on American soil), why? Isn't this akin to blaming the messenger. Fix your own dam leaks (pun intended).

Right, it was a great time to buy. I do tend to think that we will see DOW 14000 before DOW 7000, barring some unforeseen crisis. And I guess that's market confidence, right? What investors think the chances of something unforeseen popping

Aren't we already closer to "blood in the streets" than "cheery consensus"? Financial people love to say that the stock market grows at roughly 9% historically, and that is money in the bank. But if you look at any historic chart these days

I might be old fashioned, but if you want a career as a software engineer, why not attend college for a degree in computer science? When you are done, you'll likely be heavily recruited and face a much less hostile employment environment. D
