The best description I have read is that the Fed is a govt sanctioned monopoly on check kiting. As you say, it is a hybrid and they split the "profits".

My experience is similar. I started drinking coffee when I was around 15 and only took two very brief breaks like <2-3 weeks through my 30's. The acute withdrawal was hell. A few years back I decided to quit caffeine for one year a

Math is a hobby of mine and, as an adult, the best way to learn math is by trying to solve problems that interest you, i.e. for fun. I'd recommend getting a copy of Mathematica. The home/hobby version is only $376 for the desktop

Thanks for the tip, I will look into Evolution. Don't need anything fancy and my work flow is email, web, scan, print (labels and docs) and occasional spreadsheet so I think it is doable without too much pain. All my PCs are currently

Mind not blown. I agree with that and argue the point with people all the time. At the bottom of all the govt regs and laws is a gun. It seems like an obvious point to me but some people struggle with it. In my view the govt necessarily has

Property taxes are unconstitutional and immoral. They are an implicit nationalization of all property because there is no way to own property unencumbered. Implicitly the govt owns all the land and charges you rent. The level, high or low,
