Going backwards and standing still often look the same. I think its both in this case to varying degrees. Google is competing against itself, obvious competitors but also obvious refinements that appear so regardless of actually being imple

The Daily Mail is considered and described by many using much more colorful language than simply "unreliable". Especially in the UK. That said, is the Daily Mail article factually wrong? How many purchasers of iphones end up buyin

Be careful. These things tend to morph, mutate and become turing-complete. If it grows an emacs step back quietly and slowly. Just remember to feed it plenty of parentheses and you'll be fine.

What about them? As you say you still need a calling convention. I'm not disagreeing with that. And I chose rust at random because its an available systems language. Why not something else? You don't actually need C at the bottom

It will be interesting to see how the dynamics change as the USD loses its grip on the crude oil trade and possibly other commodities as well. Will the US keep doing these money-printing and interest rate interventions for the next shock?

So have I. Its probably the one that is of most benefit when troubleshooting over the phone to the tech-challenged. Perhaps instead the audio stack could be improved? The real question is, weren't these same issues in windows 7? Probab

Shooting the messenger is cheaper and maintains the appearance of security which is apparently much more important. The emperor's clothes are particularly fine today, are they not?

So many expletives. Perhaps a calmer and long term view might change the world. How? Take Linux. Currently written in C. Yay! Write a module for it in something else. Good. Perhaps you've heard of Rust? Ok, great. Write some more modul

Abolishing police means ... what? I don't understand this. How do you abolish something only to replace it with... a new copy of that something because you didn't change the rules. Wouldn't it be better to just fire complete

No pressure? There's the pressure right there in that word prodigy . That's enough pressure. Everything the kid does is an example of what a prodigy does . Oh the prodigy is writing a story! Must be great! The prodigy is playing

Couldn't find a license file in the root folder of that github. I found a license in a cpp file buried in the sec folder. You should consider putting the licensing for this kind of project in a straightforward and locatable place.

I've taught 10 year olds to program. I have no idea where this need for complex math and that supposed requirement in programming comes from. Those kids have built all sorts of things. Non-trivial things. They haven't even studied

I find mind mapping really useful. People have different kinds of brains. I can look at a mind map and see status across multiple projects almost instantly. This is across dozens of projects. Not superficial details either: What needs to be

If most women are optimising unemployed men out of dating / marriage then men being unemployed has far more significant consequences for men than women. Women are all about equality for access to employment but then complain that there

The picture is nowhere near this neat and tidy. Plenty of men can't get jobs. They want jobs but can't get them. Life circumstances are far more complex. Its not always solved by learning to code either. Not everyone can do that.

And not in california? Its interesting that Apple is seen as hip and cool yet operates a tight leash obviously because it can, legally. Microsoft is... other things... yet is operating a looser leash, albeit also in compliance with law. Int

Code reviews are interesting to watch. Especially when the author awkwardly pauses and says, "I'm not sure what this code does".

Google really needs to get its nearest competitor under control before they go after others. But Google can't get itself under control. Too busy shooting its own products before they can run, walk or even crawl. Bikeshedding at scale.

Aside about that README file: its laid out better than plenty of research papers I've been reading lately and the professors who ostensibly wrote those papers should know better. Kudos just for that.

And what exactly does that mean? No exploration of that in the article or any particular exploration for each game. Its a list after all. How does that apply to 8x8 but not a 9x9 board game? I'd expect a passing comment about it at lea

It could be argued that the icloud etc costs were included as part of the purchase price. In which case the cost was estimated over the useful life of the product and then factored into the up-front price. That or the icloud service cost is
