> It’s probably not all of it When someone says they “know” some other language, it’s rarely all of it either. Take Python for example, I know some very good Python programmers who have been using the language for 20 years and yet woul

I should have said: I don’t want VR for metaverse/virtual worlds, outside of pure entertainment. I don’t mind the negatives I mentioned for short bursts of entertainment, but for “serious” use, work/business and multiple hours per

That may be the technical reason, but end users don’t care about the why, when they can get superior visuals on even last gen game consoles. Sure, that’s not VR, but I would argue that VR actually needs better visuals to be compelling to

Superior, sure. I’m not saying that better graphics aren’t, well, better. But I am saying that it’s unnecessary for a deep immersive experience. I was equally immersed 20 years ago playing Gothic and Oblivion as I am playing recent games, g

I agree. The problem is that a human has ethical deterrents to avoid copying data while a machine doesn’t, so we have to rely purely on legal incentives to avoid copies from being produced.

I didnt try stadia, but I did try a PlayStation Now trial some time ago. I only played single player games, but some were first person shooters where you’d expect lag to matter. My experience was also very good and I didn’t have any issues

That sounds like a team problem. In my team, contents get addressed and team members don’t approve PR’s they don’t feel meet standards even if there are deadlines.

Yeah. I trust my team mates, but we use PR’s and approvals as a means of doing code review to make sure things don’t slip through and that everything has had multiple eyes. It’s not about trust, but improving quality, because we’re humans a

I once tried to use a library that used boost and since I didn’t want to require my code to need the entirety of boost (which is gigabytes in size!) I tried to extract just the parts of boost that were needed. There are so many interdepende
