I don't have a clear position here, but why not? Shareholders can do their due diligence after all. If you are not directly involved in the decision making that caused suffering to occur then you perhaps incur monetary losses (either t

Still asking for Github permissions for me (to view a demo / example) - without it I have no idea what this is. Even screenshots or something there would give an idea.

That graph puts things in perspective. It turns out that I'm living in a country where opioids are not very available compared to other nations. Here you can't even get cough syrup with codeine in it without a prescription and eve

I think with how DMCA works, Github doesn't have to (or need to) rule one way or another. Someone sends a notice and it is taken down swiftly. If the owner thinks this was in bad faith or a mistake, they can challenge it but if you are

Sorry I was not clearer. What I meant was an operation like in China where you have to be careful about what you look for on the Internet. I saw a video from China where the police was interrogating someone supposedly because of his remarks

As a non-American I'm also curious about the mass necessity of opioid painkillers to begin with. From what I hear, people are prescribed opioids post surgery etc. which is bonkers to me as a foreigner. I'm a middle aged person and

The recommendation you are making here has nothing to do with software engineering though. If you were a healthcare software business executive though, I'd be more inclined to agree.

I don't think using data as input to an algorithm necessarily breaks copyright law. I can read a book to post my impression on it somewhere right? I can read it and say "it was beautiful" on twitter. I can then automate my &q

It's not just about design. For instance there is Canvas and WebGL for interactive content. Different GPU's draw things slightly differently. Someone creates a canvas in the background, draws stuff, reads it back and since your ma

I can't really follow your logic there. In my mind for something to be predatory it should be your pretty much only option while promising you the world, an end to your tough situation. If you have a choice and you end up worse off, yo

We'll see about that. Why would airlines accept to operate these planes at a significant loss after the loss they incurred with this whole fiasco to begin with? I personally wouldn't board this plane until it had a spotless record

Yes but that only explains the magnitude of this disaster for Boeing. People will not merrily board these planes just because Boeing is between a rock and a hard place, because of their own wrongdoing no less.
