Would advise against using a debit card for anything. Credit cards give better consumer protection, less hassle if your card gets cloned, and (if used sensibly) help your credit rating.

I would say contactless card payments in general are very popular in the UK, but seeing people use Apple Pay (much less Android Pay) is something of a novelty.

“Some registries do not allow domains to be registered with WHOIS Redaction or WHOIS Privacy. Many of these are country TLDs (ccTLDs) like .uk. Cloudflare does not yet support TLDs that prohibit WHOIS redaction, but we will in the near futu

By and large, rich people invest in real estate because, in most urban areas, it is an increasingly scarce, and therefore increasingly valuable asset. It's a good investment. The solution is not to give up and stop building real estate

She is an irrational actor who is preventing a more efficient allocation of a scarce resource. If she weren’t so notably irrational, the New York Times wouldn’t be writing an article on her.

Looking at the photos, this looks more like an event space than a store. Still, good to see the Raspberry Pi team continuing to fulfil their mission.

I wouldn’t use my debit card for any purchases. More protections and less hassle using a credit card.

To be triple clear, any sort of claim about about economic performance 14 years in the future is utter nonsense.

To be clear, the scare-mongering implied all these things would happen near enough immediately following a leave vote.

I use mpd/ncmpcpp and couldn’t be happier. It’s lightweight, responsive, and makes me feel like I have much more control over my music. I have it always open in the corner of my sceeen with a tiling window manager.

To cut a long story short, I initiated an inward transfer with Gandi and paid accordingly. It was a premium domain for a new gTLD so quite expensive (~€150 for one year) There was an issue with their transfer authorization emails -- one was

Gandi are expensive and I had a nightmare experience where they literally lost one of my domains on an inward transfer. Customer service was unhelpful and downright rude. Never had any problems with Namecheap.

For a small business, getting a solicitor involved is a big expense. I agree it would probably expedite a resolution, but at what cost?
