Good catch. That looks right now you've pointed it out. I was thrown off by the word "translation".

Translated words and phrases often have to be very different than the literal translation. For example: "sack" in english can also mean firing a worker, or plundering a city. The word for "a large bag" in most languages will not have thes

It's not opening up a Pandora's box to say that Windows is more user-friendly than a Mac in some aspects, and anyway you're using the phrase "rare occasion". Having said that, your example is bad because: - your "simple os option" is hidden

Thumbs.db is the correct comparison in this case because we're talking about behavior i.e an unwanted file that is silently added and propogates. desktop.ini is closer from a functionality point of view, but in practice I see much less of i

Android is taking off here in India because it's creeping into the low-end. I'm sure the same thing is happening in most countries. Last week I got a Samsung Galaxy Y. It's small, sturdy, has swype input and has great battery life. Gmail,

More generally, this kind of legal corruption is an obvious and yet unacknowledged flaw in representative democracy. By obvious, I mean in the game theory sense i.e a system of selfish rational humans acting under the rules of "democracy".

It blows my mind that people can't understand that scrolling "feels right" is a show-stopper feature for a touch interface. Meanwhile, at Apple, they would have got it right in version 0.1, and Steve Jobs would treated that as prototype qua

I'm guessing the justification is that switching apps is consistent with the fact that the OS X Dock shows apps, not windows. Probably Unity & Gnome 3 made the alt-tab change to match their move to the Dock model? Whatever the reason,
