Yet, this doesn't answer my question. Human brain is obviously has so much more in it (visual cortex for starters, grid cells etc), and, in terms of neural network, much more sophisticated architecture. But still, there is a big probab

Why people concentrating on creating more hacks on top of fundamentally ill-suited stack for app development, rather then rethink the whole stack from the first principles? Luckily, after 3 decades, there is some sobering realization that t

TOTP is not 2FA, but can be used for 2FA. What is the "secret stored on device" when SMS is used for 2FA? Passkeys are stored in Secure Enclave on Apple devices, or on YubiKeys. Not sure about Androids.

I'm writing Go and Dart daily for many years (Go - 9 years, Dart - 4 years). Looking at the Go code (especially old one) I can immediately understand how and where error path is handled. In Dart code it's almost never the case – y

No, a bit upper layer. You need to handle error codes, request and response parameters, naming for the API etc. Imagine having API with 100+ endpoints. How do you add another one in gRPC? You edit .proto file and run codegenerator, which cr

Good point. I refered to the code, not to the protocls. With REST/JSON mostly you write code twice – server implementation and client implementation. If you add new platform (say, iOS), you write new code again. So for each new platfor

gRPC is so much cleaner and easier to work with for the APIs. - Error codes are well defined (vs "should I return 200 OK and error message as a JSON or return 40x HTTP code?") - no semantics ambiguity ("should I use POST for
