Well, (un)fortunately WebGL 2.0 adoption is mainly blocked by Apple. And as Apple is one of the driving forces behind WebGPU, I expect it to be adopted by Safari faster.

Fortunately, WebGPU is on the horizon to fix this mess. And before someone links the relevant XKCD comic, I'll do it myself: https://xkcd.com/927/

It's basically a game which people use as a basis for custom games. I never fully understood it either, but my little brother used to love it.

I was very surprised to hear that Apple actually acted upon some of the community feedback. In particular, LHLS was supposed to rely on HTTP/2 Push (leading to issues with most CDNs) while the community solution makes use of HTTP/

This appears to be a fork of the Red5 media sever, looking at the Github repository. Would be interesting to know why this has been forked instead of contributing. At first glance, Red5 still seems to be actively maintained. - https:/

Live streaming video usually has a latency of 6 to 30 seconds, so in that context anything below a second is very low latency Edit: the topic of my bachelor's thesis included low latency live streaming, so I hope I have at least some k

On a further note, what is preventing Stadia from running on Safari on iPadOS right now? I suppose it's making use of some non-standard Chrome only features?

I still wonder why games are often treated so much differently than movies or shows today. They should've reached the same cultural acceptance by now and are often as much art as their non-interactive counterparts.

To the people downvoting this comment: By saying that 11 is what 10 was to Mac OS 9 implies the same substantial changes made to the whole system which is not the case here, at all. Mac OS 10 / OS X / macOS was a completely new sy

As Apple's own GPUs do not run full OpenGL, does this in turn mean they didn't only create a x86 to ARM translation layer but also a full OpenGL implementation running on top of Metal? Similar to other projects implementing OpenGL

Yes, this update basically reduced the value of Bronze significantly as there were no relevant new features coming to Bronze and those that we were paying for are now in the free tier.

I'm not saying they should remove any free features, but now and then it'd be nice seeing a Silver feature come to Bronze.

With every release I wonder why our team is even paying for Gitlab Bronze. It seems to offer no value at all, might as well go for the free tier and save a thousand dollars a year.

Actually, Apple blocked the Steam remote play app because it just acted as a remote desktop for Steam's Big Picture mode, which also allowed using the store for making purchases. This was a thorn in Apple's eyes so Valve had to en

As far as I know, WebM only recently added AV1 support to its container format. Before that, it was already supported in MP4 and Matroska.
