My dad bought an 11" MacBook Air in 2011 - I think it was the cheapest possible Mac you could get at the time (maybe $900-$1000?) But I really wanted him to be on MacOS. He basically never used it as a laptop, and it's been plugge

I wasn't dissing SvelteKit. But I've been using it for about 6 months now. It's not perfect. There are currently some things that are very hard to do in SvelteKit that are not hard in other frameworks. It is what it is. That

Svelte doesn't use a virtual DOM and when it compiles, it only targets what you are specifically using it for. The thing with Svelte is that for a big project (like an SPA) you're going to end up using SvelteKit, because that'

This is really why I love Svelte so much. To me, the way components are formatted is how the HTML spec should have evolved over the last 10 years. It's absurd to me that HTML is still "documents" with a head and body wrappe

My bad, apparently BFE is more well known than I remember. It’s cool to have alternatives. I’ll give it a shot, why not?

It won’t be. React had its time and is now waning. The future is frameworks with no virtual DOM that are interoperable with other JS frameworks like Svelte.

Well, webpack has been replaced by vite (for those who pay attention to front-end trendfuckery) which is much simpler than Webpack and Babel is eliminated. We are still not quite at the point where it’s practical to not have a module bundle

Get out of big tech. Your performance is probably not as bad as you think it is. Yes I have been in the same boat and being unemployed was better for my mental health than staying in big tech (as long as you have savings to float you)

I did want to clarify since this is under my real name, to me product managers are similar to project managers. 80% of them are useless- they don’t make the process of building software easier and don’t make the end result better (by whatev

Good points, but I have to point out that what you're describing is literally what happened with our current system, just less extreme. I was recently quoted $250,000 to buy a .com that is not being used and as far as I can tell has ne

The DB connection to Supabase can be made where ever you want it to be. It’s just JavaScript. In Node, a “module” is generally scoped to a file. So you make a db.ts file and export the instance you create and it functions basically as a sin
