Yeah but everything I hear is that new builds in the US are worse than ever in terms of quality. I owned a brick ranch house in the US and had to have all the ductwork redone because it had accumulated mold. Cost me 3k. It just seems way mo

The idea of central AC/Heat to me is so dumb. I much prefer the style of having individual units in individual areas. There’s no single point of failure, if you only want one room to be extra cool it’s easy and faster to do. With centr

I agree with you. I think Svelte and the syntax it uses to do everything you're describing, from iterating to interpolation should be part of the HTML spec.
214.
by dimmke 3y ago
Interpolation should have been added to the HTML specification over a decade ago. It's one of the many things the standards body has gotten wrong. This is something that literally every single framework, front-end and back-end has had

I have been developing a single page application for several months in SvelteKit, which emphasizes server side rendering and progressive enhancement. I spent a lot of time making things work without JS when it would have been easier not to.

I'm not going to respond to most of what you wrote, but the main point of my comment is that it is generally accepted practice to size text along a scale, when deciding different text sizes in a document, and Tailwind's text sizin

The default font size is 16px. You can scale it down to 12px for mobile viewport sizes and up to 18px for extra large and then use relative sizing for everything, including the text size of all the elements on your page. There's a well

I’ve been working on an app that will ideally have many user posts, and this agenda scares me. You have these giant platforms that can afford to have entire departments dedicated to manual moderation, and even then you get rags like The Ver

It’s also more about not wanting to pay the smarmy pieces of shit who booted you than just the price. This way you feel like you’re hurting them.

by dimmke 3y ago
For people who have never lived in Atlanta, the booting situation is ridiculous there. You can get booted even if you were parked in a spot legitimately - they’re over eager. Police don’t care. Reading this article made me happy.

It’s contextual. If you only know JS that eliminates the PHP, Ruby, Java, Rust, and Python options unless you want to learn a new language. The JS ecosystem has Express, but that’s pretty lightweight. I think the sweet spot is probably leve
