Can we please stop using “NSFW” as a euphemism for porn? I feel like I’m going crazy today between this and Reddit. The standard for something to qualify as NSFW is much lower than straight up pornography. It was originally anything you wouldn’t want your boss to see you looking at if he walked up behind you at your cubicle. The use of the term is incredibly vague. If you’re banning porn just say you’re banning porn Jesus Christ.

- dimmke 3y agoI did click the link after writing that knee jerk comment. I think their page does a great job of explaining that pornography is banned but other content that would be considered “NSFW” is allowed but must be marked as “mature”. I actually feel like it makes the title of the submission inaccurate and my point still stands there.

- gscott 3y agoI use NSFWWIBM (NOT SAFE FOR WHEN WIFE IS BEHIND ME). Because I work by myself NSFW doesn't apply.
- saagarjha 3y agoLots of people have spouses that are fine with them consuming porn.
