Why not point the finger at Windows? Development on Windows is archaic.

While this is really cool (and a feat of engineering no less), I'm always really concerned when someone suggests to make an HTTP call from their database server. Many years ago my boss told me to make a scheduled task in Windows to exe

You're getting downvoted, but I've gotten messages from three different people trying to "be in the tech industry" even though they "don't care about code and don't care about understanding it" and ju

But Clean Code BAD. Don't you know? Chances are these commenters haven't even opened the book.

Clean Code is one of the best books I've ever read. I don't even code in Java.

There was a whole fiasco right now on the Halo: Infinite subreddit because someone downloaded Wireshark and started inspecting traffic and realized that each match uses 300mb. It's interesting that gaming invites non-technical people t

100% this. And yes, with inner joins it also solves the relationship issues.

Yeah Copilot has been pretty useless for me. I'm not really sure what this is indicative of. Maybe my coding style is not that common? I'm unsure. Mostly used it with Go and configuration files.

What? This is not at all what the author is describing (or even what you're insinuating is bad in Godot).

I keep seeing this kind of retort online whenever I ask someone to describe what is "great" about something. Why does it matter what I consider "great"/marvelous?

One of the dumbest blog posts I've ever read. Who is upvoting this stuff? If anything I see newer devs _not_ embracing DRY. Some of the codebases I've seen lately are hilariously bad, especially in frontend development.

What's so marvelous about it? Also, how is proof of stake hard to understand? People with a lot of Ethereum are now validators. ???

Yep, same. Vite is absolutely incredible. It's a shame that frontend is so looked down upon, but I get it.

It's not PHP. It's not even close to being PHP... SSR frameworks are truly impressive pieces of technology that might impress you too if you weren't raging uncontrollably.

Wow. Despite a lot of the negativity here, V looks great. I might take a stab at writing something over the weekend with it. Congratulations on the release.

I used Shortcut (formerly Clubhouse) for a while. It was a huge breath of fresh air coming from Jira. But I'm not sure how much of that was that I despised Jira more-so than I loved Clubhouse. I started using Linear recently and I can

Eh, this was a pretty contrived read, and a bad way to think IMO. A healthy dose of pessimism makes sense but I've never believed in futility.

Naw, I don't feel this way. I'm not a huge fan of Tailwind. I've used it and I get the appeal, but I think it's the next flavor of the year. Next year we'll have something that supersedes it.
