Yes it's annoying but still don't get what the fuss is. You said it's because they don't care about the bigger picture. But the bigger picture is they are doing everything to cut cost and adding extra chips is not worth

most old money is locked into investment and guarded by professional wealth managers. you can't just ask daddy for cash- unless they've set up trust funds to freely dispense your allocation, you're gonna have to pitch for it.

it's pretty much just another HR role. I don't think you'll get much pushback if HR isn't making money, most people ignore it to be avoid being cancelled.

kinda like when people wash their cars or tend to their gardens. sure, the ROI is bad and they could just work more at their day-job and earn enough to employ someone to do it, but not everything needs to be quantified by money- some people

usually I wear soundproof headphones which discourage casual chatters. I usually also pick a location in the corner or near a window so there's less traffic around. Sometime you can also put a makeshift "DO NOT DISTURB SIGN"

it's doing exactly what it was designed for. you can easily contact the previous owner to unlock them... though it's obviously not feasible if it's stolen.

9 month is long. I thought credit card companies only hold for 3 months at the most so not sure why Stripe needs it 3x longer

yea it was pretty obvious they were spamming on the day, when you could see numerous reddit posts announcing that "threads is launching" with pretty much the exact same title in multiple subreddit, all from different accounts.

i think the main difference is a pro can grab a cheap tool or make one from scratch to complete a task, whereas an amateur will hesitate to do a task unless he has the "best" branded tool

for a personal site any is fine. but for business a .com or country TLD is still preferable. Some start-ups can get away with .io or similar especially if their customers are 100% techies but unfortunately many are still not that tech savvy

they got lucky with alibaba and everyone though they had a midas touch. all they did was huff and puff every startup they touched giving them inflated ego. ironically alibaba grew without their influence and did well for themselves

to be fair, critical thinking is one of the core prerequisite of research and a part of that is thinking about what you discovered and how it can apply to real world scenarios.
