I've been seeing almost weekly posts recently like "I just got out of a meeting where my company plans to replace X people with an AI that does their job for $XX/mo" The fearmongering and astroturfing is obvious.

I am absolutely LOVING Volumio. It's running in a VM in my garage computer that does various other things. At the time, Volumio didn't have a clean way to do this so I just hacked away until it booted and played music. A little US

Shelly has a few relays with power metering and they offer lots of local-first and open ways of communicating. I use one to control power to my 3d printer.

It would need to be a very specific kind of washing machine (that hopefully probably exists) to make your idea work. A fully analog/mechanical washing machine is just a big mechanical timer controlled relay behind the knob like a toast

I've used that and can confirm it works great. I just use it to run Arm64 Linux on my M1 chip at work for speed.

Not sure about the email specific issues you may have had, but did you run your outbound through Mailgun or Sendgrid? I've used Mailgun personally and professionally for years, just started using Sendgrid at work and love both.

Anecdote, I also had a container app fail, from a trusted provider that I assumed weighsy have plenty of testing in place, but maybe it was too synthetic. Sonarr from LinuxServer.io briefly changed to a dev build and boned the DB before swi

Did you try Lima on Mac? I never did compare apples to apples, ran an x86 Podman VM and then switched to an arm64 Lima VM and had drastically improved performance.

It's also good to hire people who are skilled at correcting bad code in general. This is also a good litmus(?) test to see the interesting ways people come to solutions to other's faults.

I've had it figure out what I was trying to do with a JMESpath query for some data from AWS. It happily filled in the blanks in my knowledge. It also simplified a JQ thing I had built, and it also told me how to structure the data how

I uninstalled/purged snap on a machine my coworker provisioned, we don't use anything that snap offers. After that I don't have an issue with Ubuntu at all.

Of all the x86 type BIOS and EFI, I've never seen one that didn't support that. Even thinclients and things you'd expect to leave that feature out.
