A finished software product that gets regular updates is old by the time it turns 7, I'd agree on that. Dependencies on libraries is a different story, there's only so many ways you can implement a functionality, and some of these

You have naked git repos in synced cloud folders, without using git remote functionalities? That would be careless and you are actively begging for things to break that way, so I'm not surprised. In fact I'd bet any other servic

This just isn't feasible for me from a usability perspective. Private email is with Fastmail, but work email is something else entirely. Both have good webmails, but vastly different UX. By using Thunderbird I can get the same UI/

Then you'd go with `filter_enabled` or similar, which is an entirely different, separate flag. It is not coupled to what the filter itself looks like.

Yep, it's decent. I also have its successor, T490s, which is much worse (e.g., no full ethernet port). That being said, my T480s had to go into warranty aleady, three times total if you count the TB3 docking station (which to me counts

It's a file system table , isn't that what it stands for? F S tab reflects that, F stab is super misleading.

This is now at 700 comments, and no one is talking about the math in the Twitter "thread". Found no mention in the Twitter replies either. Is it just me or is the math hilariously off? [0]: "10% of $150M is $15M". Correc

This is the exact reason I switched back as well (next to Lightroom). It just works. But it is extremely sad to ditch an entire OS for lack of what seems a manageable issue, fractional scaling. I wish it wouldn't be necessary.

Throw cores at that particular problem all you want. Throw 64GB RAM at it, and GPU acceleration. Won't help, since that issue is very likely I/O bottlenecked. So it's unfair to blame Lightroom here. My photos sit on a 5400 RP

A popular path is to ditch Lightroom for the trio of Rapid Photo Downloader, digikam and finally RawTherapee. This was entirely unusable for me. RawTherepee is only for RAW treatment/export. Digikam can only do photo organization. Now

Sadly, the software is quite terrible. Last I checked, it only did 720p. Even an entry-level Sony at that $700-800 price range outclasses what the software can do by a long shot. So there's no way to make use of high-end Sony gear for

Are you using shell for installations, or make? I would think builds/installs/tests are more easily done via make, as opposed to a self-made shell implementation.

You are not having any issues because TeXLive is everything. The `full` scheme on `install-sh` or `texlive-full` on Debian takes up around 7 GB last time I looked, 2 to 3 of which are PDFs for package documentation. That is, by a long sho
