So, when hundreds of millions of people got checks because covid, that wasn't inflationary? Sure feels like it was. UBI is the same thing.

One of these days, I’m still hopeful, we will figure out that behaviors are taught, usually by parents. Intentionally or accidentally, kids learn from what they see. I don’t care what nationality you are, or what your skin color happens to

It’s pretty amazing. I’m a survivor, so far, and it’s amazing. As an aside, Godwins law apparently needs a corollary name for trump. Almost every thread on here anymore brings him up. I understand people are emotional about it, but it sure

Genuine answer: I buy a lotto ticket like once a week. ~100 bucks/yr seems like a decent risk/reward tradeoff once over a certain tier of income.

If it’s the city I think you’re referring to, the governor was literally begging the mayor to ask for help from the national guard, and she refused for hours. They would have been deployed long before that. I believe the quote the mayor sai

In my simple mind, if software has been "released" it is no longer R&D, and "bug fixes" (which should include continuous improvements such as your example) are not research. I may be way, way wrong though.

My current org can have a cycle time on the order of a year. Embedded dev work on limited release cadence where the Jira (et. al.) workflow is sub-optimal and tickets don’t get reassigned, only tested, destroys metrics of this nature. If th

Most people only burn 150-200 calories when they work out. If you were eating the exact same and just not working out, you wouldn’t have put on “a bunch of fat” at all. Maybe 10lbs over two years.
