This is old news. Celebrity males have always been able to do this, and a subset of attractive women will always go for that kind of thing (groupies, anyone?). For most of the people in the dating game, this stuff is irrelevant.

I have the kindle app, and it's not anywhere near as much fun to use as my actual Kindle. It's small, backlit, and slightly less comfortable and intuitive.

You don't need to frequent the dark corners of the internet to find yourself (or your family members) the inadvertent target of a pack of attack dogs.

It's not offensive, it's just sort of incorrect. Most people date and marry those in the same age and socioeconomic bracket. You are greatly exaggerating the socially condoned differences. Like any partnership, both parties bring valuable

Seriously, The Rules simply do not work if you're looking for a loving, equal partnership. It's all manipulation and games. Same with the "pua" approach. The vast majority of people do not behave this way toward partners or potential p

This is a great piece of information, thanks. I always wonder at the shifting X, and am often perplexed that programmers who will take almost NOTHING for granted accept this as gospel truth without any corroborating sources.

I keep a sandbox for myself open at all times, particularly when I'm working on a large project. I whip out a solution for a micro case, test it, refine it, then implement it. I hate it when people check in their not quite fully-baked s

There aren't entire chapters. It appears in a quote by a mathematician. Gladwell isn't trying to explain mathematics poorly, he's transcribing poorly.

The perfect job comes along rarely, and it generally doesn't stay perfect. Our career focuses change over time, or the company undergoes a shift as work increases or decreases, or your favorite co-workers move on to different opportunities

I can't imagine paying to have a searchable CV. I already hear from recruiters about 2 or 3 times a month. Other people have made a lot of money finding me and placing me with good employers, or I've sought out specific positions at specif

This is a great idea! My kids have a set of grandparents in Korea, and they can't see each other more than once a year. I'm going to forward the site to them today.

There are days I wish I had someone to spoonfeed me applesauce and give me a warm bath, then put me down for a nap. Alas, I can't afford that kind of "nanny"...

Everyone who has previously fallen for these scams, or has enough experience to understand that most of the offers are scammy. That leaves a lot of suckers to be mined. My nanny (a very nice, intelligent woman, but naive about such things)

I write poems and short stories, listen to music (largely indie rock, classic rock, and old folk), bake, and do a little sewing (working on narwal costumes for my baby twins). Then there's python! Alas, my hobbies are mostly on hold until

Hey, don't scoff too hard. When working for a startup, one can quickly go from zero work history to being the most senior person on the team. Nothing wrong with recognizing talent and hard work, even if it's only in name.
